Wind Wolves Preserve in Bakersfield is a beautiful large area of land, resembling to Montana landscape with big and beautiful fields of wild flowers. It is spread across 95000 acres of area, which is a part of Southern San Joaquin Valley in Kern County. This wild life conservancy gives amazing view of wild flowers, waterfalls and landscape.
Wind wolves preserve is a land, developed by an ecologist Dave Clendenen and an outdoor education director Sheryl Clendenen. This nonprofit preserve is in the West Coast. Its entry is free but a donation box is kept at the entrance for its visitors to put some amount of their choice for its maintenance.
It gives an encouraging outdoor experience, mixed with environmental education which helps to understand our natural surroundings. This landscape shows how our world was before modern amenities. It is the most and the best visited place in spring /fall season.
It is an ideal place to relax, go for picnic and to enjoy the nature. Water fall in this preserve is thrilling and very attractive. It inspires its visitors to preserve their nature and culture. It is the best place for school trips, photography, hiking, picnic and camps with permission.
This preserve has 930 square miles of grassland with residue of Saltbush which is the home of endangered species like San Joaquin Kit Fox and Blunt Nose Leopard Lizard. This wild life conservancy organizes free outdoor educational programs for children. Its Mountains, waterfalls, canyon, wildflowers, landscape and wildlife make one spellbound. |
