Sycamore Canyon Golf Course is popularly known as “one of the better” golf courses in Bakersfield. This public golf course is known for its 11 lakes contained in the 12 holes spread across 7,122 yards of rising and falling terrain making it the longest golf course in Bakersfield, Southern California.
Out of the eleven lakes, eight lakes come across eight holes. The course is large enough with several bunkers positioned strategically to enhance the scenic beauty of the course as well as provide challenges to golfers of all levels. There is fast green up and low terrain and several young tress to make up for thick rough fairways of trees.
Opened in the year 1993, Sycamore Canyon soon went on to serve PGA tour in its first round of qualifying. This was the same time when Jim Furyk qualified for the first time. This golf course is surrounded by cultivated land on all sides and thus golfing in Sycamore Canyon Golf Course is a pleasure and not like golf courses which are surrounded by residential property which poses certain kind of restrictions.

Sycamore Canyon Golf Course also has a club house that got renovation in 2007 to match the amenities of California’s finest clubhouses. It has a special structure that offers great scenic views from all points. It has a fully stocked up bar and provides food from morning to evening in all courses. The clubhouse is also open private gatherings like wedding, parties or banquet. |
