Horse Thief Country Club is situated at a distance of 12 miles from Tehachapi, a fast growing town in Southern California. The club is on the western side of Cummings Valley, still an undiscovered area.
From downtown LA, the club is about 130 miles away and is frequented by visitors who are in search of fresh and clean air and the best of summer season.
Bob E. and Robert L. Baldock had built the club in the year 1974 using century old oaks along with huge granite boulders for a natural yet mature breathtaking look. It’s a magnificent golf course that offers country golfing experience to its visitors.
In addition to being an old golf course, Horse Thief Country Club had to bear the loss of being ill managed. But in the recent times, the club has been renovated and the golf course condition is improved. The course may seem fair enough but can be extremely challenging as one plays from the first tee to the 18th hole. As one progresses in the game, oaks, dunes and rocks are all a part of hazards making the game a memorable one on an antique course.
The club is open for individual games as well as holding tournaments for family and corporate. Rates are reasonable and varies with the size of the group. The club also offers help in finding appropriate accommodation in and around Tehachapi for those who plan for a overnight stay and play. |
